Tonbo-ji Temple, located in the heart of Kanazawa City's Higashi Chaya District, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Kaito (Kaito-daijin), a deity revered by fishermen and seafarers. The current shrine was rebuilt in 1974, but it is believed that the site has been a sacred place for centuries. Tonbo-ji Temple's design reflects traditional Kanazawa architecture, featuring a prominent torii gate and beautifully landscaped gardens.
