Eight Horseshoe Shrine is a Shinto temple in Echizen Province, dedicated to the god of war and good fortune, Hachiman. As one of Japan's oldest Hachiman shrines, Eight Horseshoe Shrine is an important cultural site. The god Hachiman is revered as a patron deity for the Imperial Family and is still celebrated during the annual Hachiman Matsuri festival in April.
