Located in the city of Kanazawa, Eight Horses Temple Shrine is a Shinto temple dedicated to the kami of wind, prosperity, and good fortune. Visitor tip

Cultural notes
The shrine is associated with the wind god Susanoo-no-Mikoto and the eight horses that were said to have been created from the tears of his sister, Otohime. Visitors can also observe the traditional Japanese dance, Kigozame, which is performed during special events.

Founded in 1493 during the Muromachi period, Eight Horses Temple Shrine was originally a Buddhist temple before being converted to Shintoism.
