Located in the city of Ōma, Aomori Prefecture's Ōma District is home to Inari Shrine. This Shinto shrine honors the Shinto kami Inari Okami, god of rice and prosperity. The shrine is situated on a hilltop overlooking the town and features several shrines dedicated to various aspects of Inari's power.

Visitor tip

Cultural notes

Inari Shrine is famous for its thousands of vermillion torii gates that stretch from the shrine to nearby temples and homes. This unique tradition is said to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck. Visitors can take a stroll along the 'torii road' and enjoy the beautiful views.
