Aomori

Marachōkannon Shrine is a Shinto temple located in Aomori, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, Kannon. The shrine is situated at the foot of Mount Iwaki, which is said to be the birthplace of the goddess. According to legend, the shrine was built by Saint Goryōbo-Bo, who introduced Buddhism to Japan and became a Shinto kami as a result.
