Located on the island of Nikko in Nikko City, Gunma Prefecture, Izumo Shrine is dedicated to the sea god Susanoo and also enshrines Otohime, a goddess of fertility and prosperity. The shrine is famous for its unique architecture and beautiful gardens. In Japan, shrines like this one are called "torii" shrines and can be found throughout the country.
