天香具山神社

Nara

Enshrines the kami of Mount Kaguyama (Amenokaguyama), one of the three sacred mountains of Yamato mentioned in ancient Japanese poetry and considered a dwelling place of the gods since antiquity. Worshippers come to seek blessings for wisdom, poetic inspiration, and connection to Japan's earliest spiritual traditions, as the mountain was believed to be where the gods descended to earth. The shrine serves as a guardian of the sacred peak that appears frequently in the Man'yoshu poetry collection and holds deep significance in Shinto cosmology as a bridge between heaven and earth.
