春日若宮御旅所

This sacred resting place serves as the temporary dwelling for the young kami of Kasuga Taisha during the famous Kasuga Wakamiya On-Matsuri festival held each December. The site becomes spiritually activated when the deity of the Wakamiya shrine is ceremonially transported here during the elaborate festival procession, transforming it into a focal point for prayers for good harvests, prosperity, and protection. Visitors and worshippers gather here during the festival period to witness the ancient court music and dance performances offered to the kami, seeking blessings for renewal and the continuation of cultural traditions that have endured for over 880 years.
