Located in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, the Gyubei Taishōsha Shrine is dedicated to the spirit of Oshinaga no Okami, a legendary prince from ancient Japan. The shrine's history dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE), when it was originally a small temple dedicated to the deity Kamado-no-Kami. Over time, the shrine came under the influence of local clans and eventually became a Shinto shrine in its own right.
