Located in the city of Katsura, Shiga Prefecture, Ōmiya-haisha Shrine is dedicated to the kami Ōmiya Hachiman, a Shinto deity believed to have protected the forces of the Takeda clan during their wars. Visitor tip

Ōmiya-haisha Shrine is connected to the mythology of Hachiman-no-Mikoto, the Shinto god of war and patron deity of the Takeda clan. During the summer months, locals celebrate the festival of ' Ōmiya Matsuri', honoring the shrine's main deity with rituals and offerings.

The shrine was originally founded in 1525 by Ōta Dōkan, a high-ranking official of the Takeda clan.
