Located in the city of Nagahama, Kaga Province Shugo, Shiga Prefecture, Goryu Taishinsha Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deities Hachiman and Hikoboshi. The shrine was built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) by Enmei, a local samurai leader, in order to appease the gods for victory over his enemies. Today, it serves as an important cultural and historical landmark in Shiga Prefecture.
