Longhamabashi-Hachiman Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine located in the city of Longham, Shiga Prefecture, on the island of Honshu. The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the imperial family. According to legend, the shrine was founded by Hachiman himself during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) as a place of refuge for his followers.

Visitor tip
For visitors, it is recommended to approach the shrine at dawn or dusk when possible to avoid the crowds and heat, and to make a silent prayer at the shrine's torii gate before entering.
