This subsidiary shrine within the greater Kasuga Taisha complex is dedicated to the Kasuga kami, the four Shinto deities who serve as protective spirits of the Fujiwara clan and the ancient capital of Nara. Worshippers come here to seek blessings for family prosperity, political success, and protection, following centuries-old traditions established when the Fujiwara family held immense power in imperial court. As one of the smaller satellite shrines (massha) of the famous Kasuga Taisha, it offers a more intimate setting for prayer while maintaining the same spiritual connection to these powerful ancestral kami.
