高照弁財天

Highly revered in the city of Moriyama, High Illumination Benevolent Heaven (高照弁財天) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the benevolent kami that watches over merchants and brings prosperity to the community. Built in 1596 during the Edo period, its beautiful architecture reflects the style of the time, with a striking vermilion torii gate.

As a kami enshrined by merchants, High Illumination Benevolent Heaven is often visited during the annual 'Moriyama Business Festival' where locals pray for success in business endeavors. Locals also perform rituals to purify their minds and ward off evil spirits during New Year's (Oshogatsu).
