Shimane

Located in the Kotohira district of Iwakuni, Shimane Prefecture, Imasato Uenohara Shrine is dedicated to Fujin, the god of wind and storms, and takes its name from a nearby river, Hata River (Hata-gawa). It was originally founded as a shrine for the local lord's ancestral deity. Over time, it has gained national recognition for its beautiful architecture and natural surroundings.
