Located in the picturesque town of Katsura, Shiga Prefecture, Tenman-ji Temple is a prominent Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of prosperity and good fortune, Tenjin. The shrine's main hall, designed in the traditional Heian-style architecture, features a striking vermilion lacquer exterior. Founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), it is believed that the shrine was built on the site where the famous Japanese poet, Ono no Komachi, often visited to pray for inspiration.
