Located in the city of Echizen, Fukui Prefecture's neighboring Shiga Prefecture, is the shrine dedicated to Takezakura, a legendary tree that stood on the site. According to legend, a powerful kami resided within its trunk. The current structure dates back to the Edo period, with significant renovations during the Kamakura era.

Visitor tip
