Spring Day Shrine, located in Shiga Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the goddess of spring and fertility, Nakatsumi-no-Kami. The shrine's history dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE), with records of its existence found in ancient scrolls. Its current structure, however, was rebuilt during the Edo period (1603-1867 CE). Visitors can still observe traditional Japanese architecture and ornate carvings adorning the shrine's gates and buildings.

Visitor tip
To avoid getting wet, visit the shrine during dry weather or arrive early in the morning to beat the rain.

Nakatsumi-no-Kami is often depicted as a beautiful woman and is associated with springtime and fertility. The shrine holds an annual Spring Festival (Hanami) to celebrate this deity's powers, where visitors can enjoy traditional food, drinks, and music.
