Dayutsu-in Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Echizen District, which is at the foot of Mount Haku. Dedicated to the god of good fortune and prosperity, the primary kami enshrined here is Atsuta Okami. Other kami include Otaemonokami, and Fujitama. The shrine is famous for its beautiful gardens and traditional Japanese architecture.

Visitor tip
To appreciate the shrine's tranquil atmosphere, visit during the cherry blossom season ( late March to early April).
Cultural notes
Dayutsu-in Shrine is often associated with good fortune and prosperity. During the New Year festival (Oshogatsu), visitors can pray for wealth and success by tossing coins into the main torii gate.
Historical note
Built in 1868 by Iwao Matsubara, a local farmer.
