Sugawara Shrine

Sugawara Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine located in the city of Jimuzu, Chiba Prefecture. The shrine was dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, a famous figure from Japanese history and literature, who served as an advisor to the Imperial Court during the Heian period. According to legend, Michizane was wrongly accused and mistreated by his enemies, but he later avenged himself with great power and became one of the most revered deities in Shintoism.
