Shizuoka

Located in the town of Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, Sixto Shrine is a small Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of fire and lightning. Dedicated to the deity Otori no Michinaga, a prominent samurai who lived in the 10th century, it was built in 1154 and features a unique architecture that blends traditional and modern elements. The shrine is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji on clear days.
