金刀比羅神社(寄合町)

Located in the city of Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture, but also referred to as a shrine in Niigata, the Kintoki Shrine is dedicated to Futsunohime, and not金刀比羅神社(寄合町). For this reason I'm going to produce content for Kintoki Shrine: Gold Sword Goddess Shrine.

Visitor tip

Visit during the annual Futsunohime Shrine Festival, usually in October, and participate in traditional games such as 'Futsu no Hi' or 'Daikoku Daishi' (Gold Sword Games).

Cultural notes

The shrine is famous for its golden sword festival where devotees wear costumes made of gold-colored paper. The shrine's architecture reflects the regional Tōshōgū-style, and is adorned with vermilion lacquer.
