The shrine's name, which roughly translates to 'rich blessing' or 'abundance,' reflects its connection to the abundant natural resources of the region.

Visitor tip
To fully appreciate the shrine's serene beauty, visit during the cherry blossom season (late April to early May) and take a short walk along the nearby scenic trail, which offers stunning views of Mt. Peacock.
Cultural notes
Richi Shrine is famous for its sacred plum blossoms (ume), which are said to possess spiritual power. During the spring equinox, visitors can witness the beautiful blooming of these rare and precious flowers.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1869 after a fire destroyed the original structure.
