Chiwa Island Shrine, located in Osaka Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the sea god Susanoo-no-Mikoto and the wind god Hikoboshi's sister, Fūjin's wife, Fujin's twin brother and husband of the moon goddess Tsukiyomi's, Hachiman no otoko, not known as a kami specifically but rather an enshrined hero from Heian period who was revered for his wisdom. The shrine is famous for its beautiful architecture and stunning views of Osaka Bay.

Cultural notes
The shrine is famous for its 'sōgen' style architecture, which is rare in Japan. It also holds an annual festival called 'Chiwa Island Shrine Festival', where visitors can try local food and drinks, including sake and mochi.

The shrine was built in the Edo period (1603-1868) on the site of an ancient temple.
