橘本神社

Wakayama · 海南市

This shrine is dedicated to Tajimamori, a legendary figure from Japanese mythology who is revered as the deity of confectionery and sweets. According to ancient chronicles, Tajimamori traveled to the eternal land to retrieve the sacred tachibana (citrus) fruit for the emperor, making this one of the few shrines specifically devoted to the confectionery arts. Visitors, particularly confectioners, pastry chefs, and those involved in the sweets industry, come here to pray for skill in their craft and success in their sweet-making endeavors.
