Visitor tip

Cultural notes
Sensį Shrine is known for its connections to the mythology of rice, which is why it is often referred to as "Inari Okami no Miko" (Priestess of Inari, the kami of rice). The shrine also hosts a famous festival called the Shinoda Tenno Matsuri, held annually in October.
Historical note
The current main hall was built during the Edo period (1603-1868), although the shrine's origins date back to the Heian period (794-1185).
