Cultural notes

Godaiji Shrine is known for its beautiful festivals, particularly the annual Inari Matsuri, which takes place in November. During this festival, visitors can pray for good luck and prosperity by carrying bags of rice cakes decorated with vermilion paper to be offered at the shrine. The shrine's vermilion torii gate is also a popular spot for photos.

Historical note

The shrine was rebuilt in 1708 after a fire destroyed it in 1697.
