Located in the Shizuoka Prefecture, Shinmei Shrine is dedicated to the primary deity Shinmei Okami and other kami such as Fujin Okappatsu, Raijin Tanegashima, Susanoo no Mikoto, and Inari Ōkami. As a shrine that has been around since the Heian period (794-1185 CE), it showcases traditional Shinto architecture and is particularly famous for its large cedar gate called 'Kagami-dokoro' or Mirror Gate. The shrine's beautiful gardens, designed in the style of Zen architecture, are also worth visiting. Visitors can experience a serene atmosphere amidst natural surroundings.

Cultural notes
This shrine is famous for its unique Mirror Gate, a symbol of protection and purification. The shrine also hosts an annual festival called 'Shinmei Shrine Autumn Leaves Festival' in November, which celebrates the changing colors of the leaves and features traditional games and food stalls.
