Located in the heart of Osaka, Danzan-tenjin Mura Tenmangu Shrine is a sacred site dedicated to the Shinto deity Susanoo, known for his role as a storm god and god of fertility. This shrine is one of the few remaining examples of traditional Japanese architecture in the city.

To fully appreciate the shrine's tranquility, visit at dawn or dusk when possible.
Cultural notes
Dan-san Tenjin is revered as the patron of learning and literature. During the annual Tanabata Festival in July, visitors can write wishes on tanzaku papers and hang them on the shrine's vermilion torii gate.
Historical note
Established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), this shrine was originally built as a memorial to Emperor Saga.
