Visitor tip

Cultural notes
Atago Okami is also associated with the myth of the 'Fire God' and is said to be responsible for watching over Sendai from a mountain called Atago. The shrine's festival, Atago Matsuri, features traditional music and dance performances, as well as a ritual procession led by the shrine's priest.
