Atago Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The shrine is dedicated to the kami (deity) of love and passion, Atago Okami. According to legend, Atago was a young man who died from a broken heart after being spurned by his lover. His spirit is said to have become a powerful deity, protecting lovers and promoting romance. Visitors can offer prayers for love and relationships at the shrine's torii gate.
