Cultural notes
Atago Shrine is famous for being the god Inari Okami's home in Sendai. It is also a place where devotees pray to receive good luck and prosperity during the New Year (Oshogatsu) festivities, known as 'tsukimi'.

Founded in 711 by Prince Nagaya no Asa-no-kamo Minamoto no Makoto, who was instrumental in the city's founding.
