Located in Gunma Prefecture, 前蔵十二社 Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of commerce and prosperity, known as Tamashii no kami. The shrine was originally established during the Nara period (710-794 CE) as a small temple, but its current structure dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE). Over time, it has evolved into a unique blend of traditional Shinto architecture and post-war modernization. Today, visitors can explore the shrine's tranquil grounds and experience the rich cultural heritage of Japan.

Cultural notes
Front Temple Shrine is associated with the Twelve Kami of the mountain and is also related to the legend of a woman who lost her child and prayed for her return. Visitors can experience traditional Japanese sweets and tea at the shrine's izakaya, or participate in festivals such as the Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival.
Historical note
The shrine was re-established in its current form during the Kamakura period (1185-1333 CE).
