静田神社, located in the heart of Shinjuku's Shitamachi district, is a historic Shinto shrine that has been serving the local community since 1605. As one of the oldest shrines in Shinshu, it is dedicated to the worship of the sea god, Benten-sama, and is renowned for its traditional architecture and beautiful gardens.

Cultural notes

静田神社 is known for its unique 'mishima-yashiro' style of architecture, which features a large central hall with a tiled roof and sliding doors made of solid oak. The shrine's gardens are also notable for their beautiful weeping cherry blossoms, which bloom in late March.
