Kaienji Shrine, located in the town of Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of the sea and fertility, Ryujin and Susanoo no Mikoto, as well as other kami such as Bishamon and Tsukiyomi. The shrine is famous for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture, which reflect the cultural heritage of the Edo period.

Cultural notes
Kaienji Shrine is known for its annual Summer Solstice Festival (Tanabata), where visitors write wishes on tanzaku papers and hang them from the shrine's torii gates. The shrine also hosts a Cherry Blossom Viewing Ceremony during the spring season.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1777 after a devastating earthquake.
