The Izumigahara Shrine in Saga Prefecture is dedicated to the god of harvest and prosperity, Inari Okami, as well as the Sun Goddess Amaterasu Omikami, known as Izumo Hachiman-gamae. The shrine's name, 住吉神社 (Izumigahara Shrine), refers to its location on the coast of the Izumigahara Bay. This Shinto shrine is a rare example of a shrine built in a traditional style during the Heian period.
