Pitoshima Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Shijonake, Saga Prefecture, on a small island called Pitoshima. The shrine is dedicated to the sea god Susanoo-no-Mikoto and is known for its unique architecture and beautiful gardens. The shrine's design reflects the region's maritime history, with wooden structures and curved roofs reminiscent of traditional Japanese sailboats.

Cultural notes
Pitoshima Shrine is famous for its annual Pitoshima Odori festival, which takes place in October. The festival features traditional dances and music performed by local community members, as well as a reenactment of Susanoo-no-Mikoto's mythological exploits.
