熊野神社

Kanazawa-kan, the headquarters of the Otachi Clan in the Edo period, was moved to its current location in Nagaoka City in 1868 and enshrined here as Kanazawa-no-miya-ginsho. The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the clan.

Visitor tip

The shrine's main hall features a traditional Otachi-style gate; visitors can admire this unique architectural style by arriving early or late in the day when the sun casts a warm glow.
