Todokoro-jinja, also known as Otsukamiya Jinja, is a Shinto shrine located in Akita Prefecture. Dedicated to the kami of the pillar, it is believed to have been founded during the Nara period (710-794 CE). The shrine's architecture reflects its history, with a main hall constructed during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and an extension built in the Edo period (1603-1868 CE). The Todokoro-jinja is notable for its connection to the mythology of the pillar god, which is said to have created the first pillar to support the heavens.
