Dedicated to the kami of the pillar, it is believed to have been founded during the Nara period (710-794 CE). The shrine's architecture reflects its history, with a main hall constructed during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and an extension built in the Edo period (1603-1868 CE). Visitors can also observe a unique architectural feature – the shrine's main hall features a distinctive curved roof, typical of Heian period architecture.
