Cultural notes

Godai Shrine is closely tied to the myth of the 'Iwaki-yama no Kamihime,' or Goddess of Mount Iwaki, who is believed to have created the fertile soil and abundant forests of the region. The shrine's autumn festival (Koyo Matsuri) celebrates this connection with traditional music, dance, and offerings.

Historical note

Founded in 1850 during the late Edo period.
