The shrine is known for its large torii gate and traditional architecture. Visitor tip

Cultural notes

As a political shrine, it is said to offer blessings for success and good fortune in politics and business. During New Year's (Oshogatsu) celebrations, visitors traditionally tie small pink or green paper bags with wishes written on them, symbolizing the ties between patrons and their clients.

Historical note

The shrine was founded in the Muromachi period (1336-1573) and has been rebuilt several times since then, with the current main hall dating back to the Edo period (1603-1868).
