Located in the town of Annaka, Gunma Prefecture, Shuuji-tsuji Hachiman-gu is a revered Shinto shrine dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of samurai. The shrine is situated on the site where the legendary General Minamoto no Yoshitsune defeated the forces of the Kamakura shogunate in 1183 during the Genpei War.
