Cultural notes

According to local legend, the shrine is said to be visited by the local god of fishing, known as the 'Tobira no Kami', who grants good fortune to fishermen. During the annual 'Uchiwashi Matsuri' festival, visitors can participate in a ritual procession to pray for a bountiful catch.

Historical note

The shrine was rebuilt in 1964 after being destroyed by a flood in 1955.
