Cultural notes
Ryujin is also associated with water and fertility. During the annual Aomori Cherry Blossom Festival, shrine visitors can experience traditional dances and performances inspired by Ryujin's mythological connections.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in the 17th century after a fire destroyed the original structure during the Sengoku period.
