Located in the scenic city of Aomori, Eight Sasaki Shrine is a historic Shinto temple dedicated to the spirits of the ocean and the sea god Hachiman. During the annual Hakosakaimono Festival, held every June 27th, devotees light lanterns on boats, symbolizing a successful voyage and honoring the sea god.
