Cultural notes
As a shrine associated with the sea and mountains, Tsukami Shrine is often visited during festivals honoring the Shiroi Koibito (White Love) Festival, which takes place in January. The festival is said to be inspired by the legend of a fisherman who was reunited with his beloved after being lost at sea.
