Cultural notes
As Fujin is the Shinto god of wind, storms, and weather, visitors may observe a unique tradition where visitors pray for good weather by tying their wishes on blue paper lanterns and hanging them from the shrine's gates. The shrine also holds an annual Wind Festival, celebrating the arrival of spring with traditional dances and performances.

The shrine was rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1598.
