Visitor tip

To avoid long queues, visitors can arrive early in the morning or later in the evening to worship at the inner shrine before the lunchtime rush.

Cultural notes

The shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates forming a tunnel up the mountain, which symbolize the connection between heaven and earth. Inari Okappi Shrine is also known for its unique 'Inari Festival' held annually in August, where devotees make offerings to the goddess and pray for good fortune.
