神明宮

Aomori

Godai Shrine, located in Aomori Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto deity Tsukuyomi-no-kami, who governs the moon and the heavens. The shrine's architecture reflects its connection to the region's coastal communities, with a prominent torii gate facing the sea. Visitors can experience the shrine's unique atmosphere during the annual Omona Matsuri festival, where locals perform traditional dances and playfully splash each other with water.
